About The Quane Garden

Offering San Francisco's largest selection of California native plants, the Quane Garden specializes in helping you reclaim hard urban spacesβ€”backyards, alleys, unused corners, neglected areasβ€”and transforming them into beautiful, thriving gardens that work in harmony with nature's rhythms.

Located at 937 Dolores St #1, San Francisco, CA 94110, The Quane Garden operates as a garden center serving San Francisco in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

Garden centers and plant nurseries sell annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees, vegetables and houseplants, along with soil, mulch, fertilizer, pots and tools. Independent nurseries often grow part of their own stock and carry varieties that do well in the local climate, while big-box garden departments compete on price for common plants. Wholesale nurseries and growers sell to landscapers and sometimes to the public at volume prices; tree nurseries sell balled-and-burlapped and container trees and can deliver and plant large specimens. Specialty growers focus on bonsai, cactus and succulents, orchids or native plants, and hydroponics stores sell lights, nutrients and systems for growing indoors.

San Francisco is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around San Francisco is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Plants are beautiful, with many blooms

The Quane Garden has such a wonderful collection of native plants. Steve helped me select a variety of plants that were heavily fragrant as that was what I was searching for. We are not sure how they will like the more shallow planters, so that is an experiment on my part, but the plants I received were all very healthy and wonderful looking. I look forward to purchasing more plants when I get more space in the future.
